Modern apartment architecture across Coimbatore is defined by sweeping floor-to-ceiling glass doors, open balcony facades, and scenic vistas of the Nilgiri foothills. However, traditional wrought-iron or mild-steel safety grills have severe drawbacks: they block natural panoramic views, feel like prison bars, require regular repainting, and corrode quickly in the weather.
Balcony Invisible Grills have emerged as the gold-standard architectural safety solution for luxury apartments, gated townships, and independent villas across Coimbatore's premier neighborhoods like Peelamedu, RS Puram, Ramanathapuram, and Saravanampatti.
What Exactly Are Invisible Grills?
Invisible grills consist of ultra-high-tensile stainless steel wire cables (typically 2.5mm to 3.0mm in diameter) tensioned tightly between heavy-gauge powder-coated aluminium tracks mounted to the top ceiling slab and bottom floor.
Spaced at precise 2-inch (50mm) or 3-inch (75mm) intervals, the cables are virtually invisible from street level and from more than 15 feet away. From inside the room, your eyes effortlessly focus past the ultra-thin cables, giving you a 100% unobstructed panoramic view while providing unyielding fall protection.

Technical Specifications: The Importance of Marine-Grade SS 316
When installing invisible grills in Coimbatore, material grade is paramount:
1. SS 316 Marine Grade (Recommended): Contains 2% to 3% molybdenum, providing superior resistance to atmospheric pitting and oxidation caused by industrial emissions and humidity. Each cable comprises a 7×7 core strand structure rated for 300+ kg tensile force. 2. Transparent Nylon / Teflon Protective Coating: Protects human hands and children from sharp wire friction and prevents dirt accumulation between wire strands. 3. Extruded Aluminium Track Channels: Heavy-duty 6063-T6 architectural grade aluminium tracks powder-coated in matching shades (white, bronze, black, or champagne).
Invisible Grill Cost in Coimbatore (2026 Price Breakdown)
Invisible grill pricing in Coimbatore generally ranges between ₹120 and ₹180 per square foot, depending on:
- ✓Cable Spacing: 2-inch spacing (for maximum child and small pet protection) vs 3-inch spacing (for standard adult fall prevention).
- ✓Cable Orientation: Vertical cable runs (most popular for balconies) vs Horizontal cable runs (ideal for windows and staircase banisters).
- ✓Track Framing: Wall-to-wall flat installations vs Corner-curved or L-shaped custom framing.
*Example: A standard 10 ft × 8 ft apartment balcony (80 sq. ft.) in Coimbatore typically costs between ₹9,600 and ₹13,500 for full floor-to-ceiling SS 316 invisible grill installation.*
Child Safety & Building Code Compliance
Invisible grills fully comply with the National Building Code (NBC) of India and international high-rise safety benchmarks:
- ✓Non-Climbable Design: Unlike horizontal iron railings which toddlers use as ladders, vertically tensioned invisible cables offer zero footholds.
- ✓Narrow Gap Containment: 50mm to 75mm spacing makes it impossible for children or pets to squeeze through.
- ✓Structural Integrity: The cables absorb high dynamic impacts without snapping or loosening over time.

Will invisible grills rust in Coimbatore weather?+
No. We use genuine SS 316 marine-grade cables encased in a protective nylon/Teflon coating, anchored into powder-coated extruded aluminium tracks. They are 100% rust-proof and corrosion-resistant.
Can invisible grills be cut during a fire emergency?+
Yes. In an emergency evacuation, firefighters or residents can cut the cables with standard industrial wire cutters in seconds, unlike welded iron grills which trap occupants.
What is the lifespan of invisible grills?+
